Default display of existing database connections:

New Database Connection

In the New Connection dialog you can comfortably make connections to Oracle 9 and higher versions of Oracle.

Direct TCP/IP Connection

You can preload identification from available local net service names or specify connection settings manually.

Oracle Client connection

In case you have an Oracle Client on your machine installed you can connect to your database also via OCI.

Toad Extension for Eclipse automatically loads existing tnsnames.ora file. If the file is not successfully located by Toad Extension for Eclipse, specify path to the file in field TNS File.

Note: tnsnames.ora file can be used only with Oracle 10 or Oracle 11 Client. Oracle 9 Client is not supported.

Custom Connection String

You can also make use of Custom Connection String as URL in JDBC syntax is supported.

Schema Filter

In the context menu of the connection, you can define a filter for the displayed schemas. The settings are stored and later can be reused.
