HDR Window
Toolbar
Various controls and options for manipulating your HDR. See Toolbar for more toolbar specific information.
Source List
Where the source images are organized, the checkbox to the left of each image allows you to turn off and on individual images.
HDR Information
Displays a small piece of information about this HDR, such as which generator is being used and the image dimensions.
Preview Area
Where the preview of your current HDR image is displayed, also where you can adjust the crop rectangle and location when editing the crop.
HDR Window Toolbar
"Add..."
Use this button to display a standard file open window, to which you can use to select images to add to your HDR. Hold down the command key while selecting images to select more than one at a time.
"Remove"
Removes selected images in the source list.
"Align Images"
Will attempt to align the images in the source list, so that they are aligned on top of each other.
"Save"
Quick access to the "Save", "Save As..." & "Save to iPhoto/Aperture" menu items.
"Export"
Quick access to the export menu, where you can choose an application and HDRtist Pro will then render, a full sized HDR for you and open it in the chosen application.
"More Apps"
Takes you to the products page on the Ohanaware web site.
"Rotate"
Rotates your HDR to the right, hold down the option key and click, to rotate to the left.
"Crop"
Opens the crop tools and allows you to crop your HDR. See the Cropping guide for more information on how to use the crop tools.
"Inspector"
Shows or hides the Inspector.
"Image Info"
Opens the "File Information Window" with the currently selected file from the source list.
"Undo"
Allows you to undo changes you've made to the HDR image.
"Redo"
Redoes any changes that you just undone.
"Copy"
Quick Access menu to the "Copy", "Paste" & "Paste Style" menu items.
"Fullscreen"
Engages Fullscreen editing
"Buy Now"
A quick access button to purchase HDRtist Pro.
Welcome Window
Mode Selector
Chose what to display from here, this includes recent HDRs, tutorials and while in trial mode the "Buy Now & Activate" option.
Trial Counter
While in trial mode, this area will tell you how many days you have left of your free trial.
"Show this window when HDRtist Pro opens" checkbox
This option will choose whether the welcome window is the default window on app open. This option can't be disabled while in trial mode.
"Close" button
Closes the Welcome window.
Recent Item icon list
Shows previews of recent HDRs that you've edited, double click one to open it.
"Open Another File..." button
Is the same as selecting "Open..." from the "File" menu on the menubar, both allow you to select an HDR to open that is or isn't in the recent file list.
Preview size slider
Use the slider to choose your preferred icon size for the recent items icon list.
"Choose" button
Opens the selected HDR from the Recent items icon list.
Inspector
"View Switcher" Control
Allows you to switch between seeing the "1-Click Styles", "Adjustments" or "HDR Info" sections of the inspector.
"1-Click Style" Icon list
Lists available 1-Click Styles and shows a small preview of each one.
"Page Switcher"
displays how many pages of 1-Click Styles there are, & enables you to flip between them.
"Generator" Control
Enables the selection of either the "HDR" generator or the "Exposure Blending" generator. See FAQs for information on the differences between the two.
"Strength" slider
Specifies the strength of the tone mapping engine.
"Smoothing" slider
Adjusts the difference between light & dark, this can result in more detail being visible or the image appearing more realistic.
"Exposure" slider
Adjusts the overall exposure of the image, use this to make the image brighter or darker.
"Definition" slider
Enables more detail to be brought out and can make the image more realistic, but too much will make it dark.
"Contrast" double slider
The contrast double slider, features two "Thumbs". The left thumb controls the black point, while the right thumb controls the white point. If you hold down the "alt/option" key and drag the left thumb, the right thumb will move in proportion.
"Saturation" slider
Adjusts how much color is in your HDR, a bit more color is pleasing, too much can be ghastly, while none at all can be nice also.
"Temperature" slider
Allows the HDR to appear warmer or cooler, can be used to adjust the white balance of the HDR also.
"Sharpness" slider
Using our own concoction of sharpening systems, we devised this one. The more to the right you drag it, the more it'll try as hard as possible to sharpen your image.
"De-noise" slider
Will try to remove noise from your HDR, if you drag it too far to the right, it'll make your images have a kind of smooth painterly effect to them. normally you only need a little.
"Magic Glow" slider
Add's a sorta soft glow effect to your HDRs, if you like sharp HDRs, turn this off, otherwise it can add a sorta surreal feeling to the image.
"Defaults" button
If you ever want to revert to the defaults, hit this button, because that's what it'll do. Don't worry, if you hit it by accident, you can always undo.
"Save settings as 1-Click Style" button
Will save the current settings as a 1-Click Style, so you can easily use these settings on other HDR images.
"HDR Info" fields
These fields are where you can set information that gets tagged with your exported file, information such as description, your name, your copyright, a way for people to contact you, where you took this HDR and how much you like it. If you don't want this information attached to your HDRs, then you can easily prevent this by changing a setting in the Preferences window.
"File Information" fields
Once you save your HDR, you can easily overview it's file information here.
Preferences Window
"Name" Field
Part of the information you can have stored with your HDR images, here you can enter your name.
"Copyright" Field
Part of the information you can have stored with your HDR images, here you can specify a copyright.
"Contact" Field
Last part of information you can store with your HDR images, you can store a link to your website or your e-mail address so that admirers of your work can contact you.
"Add details to my saved images" checkbox
Use this checkbox to decide if you want your details added to your images or not.
"Beep on completing long tasks" checkbox
When HDRtist Pro is busy on a long task, you can send it to the background and do something else. When it's completed it'll beep and bounce in the dock to get your attention, if you don't like that, you can disable (or enable it) from here.
"After Alignment, try to crop off bad edges" checkbox
After images have been aligned HDRtist Pro will use it's cropping system to try to trim off the edges where the images overlap.
"Palette Opacity" slider
Adjusting this slider will adjust how transparent or see through the Inspector, Crop Tools and File Information Window are. If you dislike see through windows or love them, this'll help you get the level your happy with.
"Photo Organizer" radio buttons
If you have both iPhoto and Aperture installed on your computer, you can use this option to choose which photo organizer you'd prefer HDRtist Pro to save images to.
"Update Check" popup menu
Use this popup menu to specify how frequently HDRtist Pro should check for an update. If you wish to check for an update right away, select "Software Update" from the "HDRtist Pro" menu on the menubar.
File Information Window
"Preview"
Displays a preview of the source image.
"File Information"
Displays information about the actual file on the disk, including the file location, size, format and when it was last modified.
"Image Information"
Various bits of information related to the actual image, such as it's dimensions, aspect ratio, bit depth (most JPEGS are 32-bits), color profile and when the image was captured.
"Camera Information"
Such as what camera was used and the camera settings. Please note that this information relies on the meta data attached to the image file, if it's not there, then HDRtist Pro will have no idea.
